About SMES PTA

The Stone Mill PTA is a membership organization whose main goal is to support the school, its staff and the student body.  Our best way of accomplishing this is to encourage parents to get involved by volunteering or supporting organized events throughout the year.

There are a variety of activities that the Stone Mill PTA organizes during the school year.  The main PTA categories include:

  • Social Functions (ie:  Bingo Night, School Carnival, Talent Show)
  • Community Relations and Outreach Programs (ie: Multi-Cultural Night, Walk for the Homeless, Holiday Gift

              Donations to Families in Need)

  • Academic Enrichment Opportunities (ie: Cultural Arts Assemblies, Newspaper Club, Chess Club, GeoBee,

              Spelling Bee)

  • Fundraising Projects (create a new library for the PEP program, add books for the library and classrooms, etc)
  • School Support (ie: Staff Appreciation, )

This is just a sampling of the PTA's efforts.  We encourage you to get involved.  One way to do that is attend the scheduled PTA meetings which are listed in our PTA calendar.  These meetings typically start with an informal buffet dinner for the whole family at a nominal fee followed by the business meeting and a featured guest speaker who addresses a topic of popular interest.

There is no better way to get to know your school, its teaching staff and fellow parents than by becoming an active member of the Stone Mill PTA!
